Green Corridor for large-scale investment projects.

This initiative provides a much faster and simpler establishment for investors. It aims at creating jobs, and in exchange for new jobs, offers tax incentives plus cuts red-tape.

  • creating at least 150 new full-time jobs in manufacturing, data processing, or internet server hosting services
  • investing at least €20 million CAPEX
  • 0% corporate income tax for up to 20 years.

Municipality-level
support.

  • An incentive for service centers. An incentive for service centers or ICT companies, that have decided to establish a branch or expand their business in Klaipėda. Up to EUR 36 000 per application, applications accepted year-round.
  • An incentive for highly qualified specialist attraction to Klaipeda. Integration of the specialist and his/her family to the city, EUR 2,000 for housing rent compensation, EUR 400 for Lithuanian courses (per person) if needed.
  • Green corridor for large-scale investors in Klaipėda. Businesses investing at least 3 million EUR (1 million for service projects in strategic sectors and projects in conversion territories) and creating at least 20 jobs in Klaipėda (10 jobs in service projects and projects in conversion territories) receive permits 50% faster.   • An incentive for building water management infrastructure. AB Klaipėdos Vanduo partially or fully finances the construction of shared water management infrastructure if the following requirements are met:
    1. a commitment to wastewater treatment services
    2. the creation of new jobs
    3. other indicators
  • The Free Economic Zone. The fDi Intelligence voted Klaipėda’s FEZ the #1 FEZ worldwide for launching projects ASAP. The FlexStart programme offers to adapt production and administrative premises for your operation in under three months. Companies can also qualify for a profit tax exemption for 10 years, followed by a profit tax of 7.5%.

  • Corporate profit tax — 15%
    If you have under 10 employees and your revenue does not exceed €300,000, your profit tax will be 0% for the first year and 5% after that.
  • Corporate dividend tax — 15%
    Unless a foreign company owns at least 10% of shares with voter rights. Then, a 0% dividend tax applies.
  • Value-added tax (VAT) — 21%*
    For books, public transport, and hospitality services, it is 9%. For pharmaceuticals, drugs, and products that help the disabled, VAT is 5%.
  • Land tax — 0.09-4% in Klaipėda.
  • Real estate tax — 0.05-3% in Klaipėda.
  • Employees – 20% 
    Or 32% if the annual income exceeds the national income average by at least 84 times.
  • Self-employed – 15% 
    But only 90% of income is taxable.
